Apply for a partner accountNo. If you live outside the EU/EEA and are not resident in Portugal, you must appoint a fiscal representative resident in Portugal to obtain a NIF. Our partner lawyer acts as that representative, so you can start from where you live now.
NISS requests generally need a Portuguese address. SNS access is based on legal residence, and the number is issued by the local health centre for your registered address, so a real residential address is required. Hotels and temporary addresses are usually not accepted. That is why we suggest the NIF first, then NISS and SNS once you have arrived and secured an address.
